Edge Fighter Challenge Finalist Announced!
The Jackson’s MMA Series VI amateur card will feature the winners of 104.1 The Edge Fighter Challenge (EFC). The EFC presents a unique opportunity for fans of MMA to pursue their dreams and step into the cage. The EFC is a collaboration between 104.1 The Edge (http://www.1041theedge.com/main.html) “Albuquerque's Rock Alternative” and the Jackson’s MMA Series (http://jacksonsmmaseries.com/). Jackson’s MMA VI provides the EFC winners the opportunity to be the main amateur match of the evening. Hundreds submitted applications and dozens of potential fighters were selected to try out for the opportunity to be selected for the EFC. The potential MMA fighters ran through a series of evaluations including jiu-jitsu, wrestling and striking. Ultimately fighters were selected for the two teams and fans became fighters.
The two teams for this EFC installment were Team Santa Fe coached by Tait Fletcher and Henry Martinez taking on Team Albuquerque coached by John Dodson and Chad LaMoine. John Dodson is featured on the current Season 14 of The Ultimate Fighter. The final selections have been made and Ricky Esquibel of Team Albuquerque will be taking on Juan Carlos Mora of Team Santa Fe in a 135 pound match up. Both fighters were selected after weeks of training and emerged as their respective team’s best fighter to win the EFC matchup! Both fighters are excellent athletes and have demonstrated heart and technical skill in their training. The fighters will not only be representing their teams but also their cities, Albuquerque vs. Santa Fe, in this explosive matchup!
